I have been snacking on Hunter Foods products since childhood. Many of us living in Dubai have probably eaten these products more than once in our lifetime. Safari, Aladin and AliBaba are a few common names from the wide variety of foods and snacks they have. Hunter Foods have launched over 100 products since then, and I am going to focus on the Hunter’s Gourmet Superfoods because I appreciate the high quality of these products. The recent launch of Hunter’s Gourmet was the start of a new chapter for Hunter Foods; a selection of innovative, niche and premium quality snacks with an emphasis on health and flavour. It is very apparent the new range is driven by passion for exceptional food and snacks. These products are non-GMO, predominantly MSG-free and without artificial flavouring, colours or preservatives.
Wheatgrass is a nutrient-rich type of young grass in the wheat family. Wheatgrass provides a concentrated amount of nutrients, including iron, calcium, magnesium, amino acids, chlorophyll, and vitamins A, C and E. A spoon full with boost any kind of food you add it in. wheatgrass has lots of health benefit to name a few, it helps in weight loss, reduce food craving, detox the cells cleans the liver, treats sunburn, prevents cancer etc.
For the people who enjoy the dark rich chocolate flavours, these nibs are perfect healthy options in the raw form. A cocoa nib is a piece of cocoa bean that is no longer in the hull. Prepared cocoa nibs are dry roasted to bring out the aroma and flavor. Chia is an edible tiny seed that comes from the desert plant Salvia Hispanica. Chia seeds are known to be one of the healthiest foods in the world. They are loaded with nutrients that can have important benefits for your body and brain. Chia seeds are loaded with antioxidants, high in protein, omega 3 fatty acids, it helps in improving type 2 diabetes, it helps boost energy pre or post workout etc.
This is the most common kind of quinoa available in stores, so you’ll often see it just called quinoa. Sometimes it’s also called ivory quinoa. Red quinoa holds its shape after cooking a bit better than white quinoa, making it more suitable for cold salads or other recipes where a distinct grain is especially desirable. Black quinoa, a bit earthier and sweeter than white quinoa, black quinoa keeps its striking black color when cooked. Often used as a substitute for rice, quinoa is commonly considered to be a grain and is usually referred to as such, but is actually a seed. Quinoa is a good source of protein, fiber, iron, copper, thiamin and vitamin B6. Few of the health benefits include, it’s good source of protein, Anti-inflammatory, gluten free, helps in Lowering cholesterol, Heart health etc.

Raw Vegan Wheatgrass cheesecake
I absolutely love raw food! To make a quality raw food dessert it takes a lot of time and patience. Here is my absolute favourite raw recipe using Hunter’s Gourmet Superfoods by Hunter Foods.
Crust:
3/4 cup almonds
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup Hunter’s Gourmet Organic Roasted Cocoa Nibs
1 cup Khalsa dates
Filling:
250 grams raw cashew pieces, soaked overnight (or at least 6 hours)
1/2 cup agave syrup
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
3/4 cup coconut oil, melted
2tbs Wheat grass powder
Decoration:
½ teaspoon Hunter’s Gourmet Organic Wheatgrass Powder
¼ cup raspberries
Method:
To prepare the crust, pulse almond salt in a food processor fit with a metal blade. When nuts are fine crumbs, add the dates and pulse until the dough holds together when squeezed between your fingers. Add Hunter’s Gourmet Organic Roasted Cocoa Nibs and mix well. Firmly press crust into the bottom of jar or any pan. Set aside and refrigerate it for 5-15 minutes.
To prepare the filling, Pulse cashews in a food processor until crumbly. Add agave, water, lime juice and vanilla. Puree until very smooth, scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to make sure you get everything. Divide the mixture of the filling into two blows. Add Hunter’s Gourmet Organic Wheatgrass Powder in one of the bowl and mix well until incorporated. The filling should turn a light green. By now you will have two colors of cheese.
Pour white (plain cashew paste) the mixture on top of the base and refrigerate it for 15 minutes. After the mixture has set carefully pour the cashew paste with wheat grass as the final layer till the top of the jar.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes or 1 hr. sprinkle with Hunter’s Gourmet Organic Wheatgrass Powder and top it with few raspberries before serving.
Note: The time for refrigerating the raw cheesecake will differ if you are not using the jar to set the mixture (up to 2-4 hours).
