Hunter Foods team has been traveling far and wide to bring the best gourmet food from around the world into your home. We have been very selective, and in an attempt to fulfill the many needs of UAE residents we’ve focused on sourcing a variety of the best the US, UK & Asia have to offer.

Burts Biscuits & Cakes, a third generation baker based in Wales, UK, has been manufacturing their finest tasting fruit cakes with the highest quality ingredients and artisan methods for the past 75 years. Hunter Foods has had the privilege and hornour to collaborate with Burts to bring their traditional handcrafted cakes to the UAE! Hunter’s Gourmet/Burts Cakes can be found in a slab for self-serving, squares for entertaining, or slices for lunch packing and on the go. The high content of natural fruits and nuts naturally preserve the cakes themselves. So they are completely preservatives free! Meanwhile, they are also free from any artificial flavours and colours. Recently our Hunter Foods team was able to sit and discuss all the possibilities with Mr. Edward Burt, the current Managing Director, and find out why they are so passionate about their baking. “We are a family business with strong heritage and provenance. The heritage of Burts Cakes & Biscuits is born from 3 generations of family baking traditions; all their recipes date back to as early as 1918 when Mr. Edward Burt’s grandfather became a resident baker at the Gwalia Stores in South Wales. “This store was known as the Harrods of the Valley, set up to service the mining communities in the South Wales Coalfields. It was from his work developing cake recipes, which are still in use today 3 generations later, that allow us to produce some of the finest tasting fruit cakes.” Working in conjunction with Hunter Foods, Hunter’s Gourmet/Burts Cakes & Biscuits work daily to bring further traditional British Bakery products to the Middle East and beyond.
